NZ FMX Legend will take part in display at the Hamilton V8 Supercars

To be sponsored by Red Bull is a major accomplishment for any athlete and New Zealand’s very own Nick Franklin is just that. Nick recently claimed runner up at the NZ FMX Battle Championship Series against top Australian rider Steve Mini. Due to such a high level of international competition Nick was unable to defend his 2009 number one title but will be back in 2011 to show he has what it takes in the sport of Freestyle Moto-X.

Nick is ready to showcase his talent at the ITM400 V8 Supercars in Hamilton and will be performing shows with the Encounter FMX team over the three days. Bringing his international experience to this event means a lot of back flipping on his motorcycle while jumping a massive seventy five feet through the air, taking off and landing on metal ramps. Nick is all about entertainment and is looking forward to adding his talent to the Hamilton event.

“I really enjoy putting a show on and chatting with the spectators” commented Franklin who always takes time to sign autographs and answer questions.

FMX is a relatively new sport and Nick has been leading the way here in NZ being the first accomplished overseas rider and the first kiwi to learn the notorious back flip on his parents’ property in Tokoroa.

Rider Mitch McHardy will also be joining Nick for the display. Mitch recently took a fifth place at the NZ championship series in Tauranga against international riders and is can claim New Zealand’s third best rider behind Franklin.

The FMX display, which will be broken up into several short brackets throughout the day, will include interviews with the riders, spot prizes, and autograph signings.

The Encounter FMX team are excited to be part of such a highly anticipated event and will be performing over the three days, April 15th – 17th. For more information about this event please go to http://hamilton.v8supercars.com.au. Tickets can be purchased at www.ticketek.co.nz.
